5 Reasons Why You Should Rent TVs Instead of Buying Them

The price of televisions has risen sharply in the last two decades. The manufacturers believe they are justified in charging a higher price due to technological advances in display, colour, sound and screen sizes. Many consumers find it difficult to keep up with the current television trends. Given the high price tag and rapid advances […]

5 ways to include self care in your life #Sponsored

Are you taking care of yourself?  The following is a sponsored post. Opinions are my own. Often we put everyone else’s needs before our own, leaving us feeling run down, especially this time of year. Instead of allowing me to neglect myself, I have decided to take action and implement a little self care each day. […]

A budget friendly makeover with Groupon Goods #Sponsored

Do you need a makeover but can’t afford it? This is a sponsored post. All opinions are mine. I see many moms putting themselves last, working in yoga pants or pajamas from home, letting themselves go and feeling resentful as a result. It’s a tough gig, juggling motherhood, the house, a business, all of it. […]

“The Art of Work: A Proven Path to Discovering What You Were Meant to Do” (2015)

The challenge for any artist – and we are all creating something on the canvas of our lives – is to do our work well while letting go of the result. – Jeff Goins, The Art of Work

Recently, I conducted a Reader Survey.  You told me a topic that interests you greatly was Personal Development.  Funny you mention it.  I happen to think that topic is AWESOME.

That is why my book review for May is  “The Art of Work” by Jeff Goins.

Filled with great stories that challenge your heart and soul, this book will cause you to think twice about how you plan to spend tomorrow.

It’s packed with straight up truth.  Page after page, Jeff Goins nails it.

The overarching theme I kept hearing was:

Jeff worked a desk job before he was a full-time writer.  He launched a blog, wrote every day, wrote guest blogs and began speaking.  He even wrote several inspiring books leading up to his latest (and I believe his greatest) achievement:

You Are a Writer (So Start Acting Like One)

The In-Between: Embracing the Tension Between Now and the Next Big Thing

Wrecked: When a Broken World Slams into your Comfortable Life

Now Goins is a full-time writer.  He followed his calling – as terrifying as that was.  What I love in The Art of Work is how zealously Goins walks the walk.

He believes in your calling, probably more than you do right now.

I followed Jeff Goins’ progress with this book via his blog.  It was really exciting to watch the publication of the final product.  You couldn’t help but be excited for him.  It was contagious.  Electrifying even.

If you are searching for your calling and need inspiration to lead the way, I invite you to read The Art of Work.

Why I Love Platform University

Isn’t becoming a raving fan just the best?  Eh, actually it has been a while.  Let’s be honest.  We put up our guard in this over-saturated world of ours.  But every now and then, we find something that resonates with our core.  For example:  Platform University.   What is a Platform? You have a platform. […]

What to Expect When You’re Consigning – Part 2 – Volunteering

I can now say I’ve joined the world of consigning.  Before, I was too chicken or too tired.  Ahem…completely valid reasons, in my book. But if you have any interest in getting involved, let me give you a leg up. To see how I got started, click here for Part 1. Right now, I want […]

Give Your Clutter an Eviction Notice

Each one of these tickets represents an item I am selling at a local consignment sale. They’re my little “eviction notices”.  Translation:  Stuff is leaving my house! Sure, the money I am hoping to earn is nice, but let’s focus on the value of decluttering for a few minutes. How I Almost Made Money Decluttering my House […]
